ink

(Jan 07) Video (6:20 mins)
ink

Blue ink and water are poured between glasses and cups on a tabletop.

Pouring liquids between similar containers enacts the transfusional quality of linguistic communication, in which every text is a translation and every word is always already in currency. Ink is diffused into water; liquids are poured into one another until their origins are obscured; undiluted ink is added periodically; and the exchange continues. The action is contained within the confines of the screen and the video is displayed uncut, enforcing the economy of the tabletop region as the site of meaning exchange.
