(Mar 06) 2,500 word essay In this essay I explore the cross-linguistic interpretation of text and speech, and subsume inter- and intra-lingual communication into a single category. I go on to question distinctions between languages, between drawing and writing, and between the familiar and the strange. The strange can be made familiar and the familiar strange, though the latter is harder and succeeds only fleetingly at best.
