I made this series in June 2007 for the Here Gallery exhibition as a response to the Palomar Translations I was also showing there. They recreate the quiet pulse of iteration introduced in the Translations, and I think the fact of their repetition is the thing that quietens them. I’m working to recreate using objects the eloquence and subtlety of expression you might find in a carefully considered written thesis, and for now I want to do this by leaving carefully constructed spaces for thought.
