And so trying to read is a lonely thing, eking out circles trawling up the dredgethread that breaks on cornersharps and comes loose. Pulling bits up from the carpet to stare at and cut them out: some bits ask it, some bits curl and like it, some bits ache and muscle away. Some bits stay floating elastickelusive and stuck to the roof of my mouth. Some things stay words and fail to come loose and don’t touch except by the bindings of their grammarstrings that stay threaded knitclose to the papertissue and we are without the tweezers meant for detatching and feeding them sticktip to my mouthsoft.
